Modelling of dynamics of ionic argon clusters

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je teoretické studium dynamiky klastrů argonu po náhlé ionizaci. Prostřednictvím pseudoexperimentů je nejprve pomocí metody Monte Carlo simulována excitace původně neutrálního tetrameru argonu (Ar4), následně pak pomocí molekulární dynamiky (MD) jeho ionizace a fragmentace. K popisu dynamiky je použita hemikvantová mean field dynamika s quenchingem, interakce mezi atomy je popsána metodou diatomics-in-molecules (DIM) doplněnou o spin-orbitální interakci, jejíž zahrnutí se zdá mít značný vliv na zpřesnění získaných výsledků. Cílem je nalezení takového modelu dynamiky, jehož výsledky by se shodovaly s výsledky reálného experimentu.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is the theoretical study of dynamics of argon clusters after sudden ionization. We use computer-simulated pseudoexperiments composed of two basic steps. In the first step we simulate excitation of originally neutral tetramer of argon (Ar4) using Monte Carlo method. The second step includes cluster ionization and fragmentation. For description of dynamics we use hemiquantum mean field dynamics with quenching. Interaction between molecules is described by the method diatomics-in-molecules (DIM) followed with spin-orbit interaction, because its inclusion seems to have considerable influence for improving acquired results. The aim is to find such a model of dynamics which would give results in match with results of real experiment.
