Financial Analysis of an IT Consolidation Project

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá hodnocením konkrétního investičního záměru v podobě vybudování a provozu IT infrastruktury pro poskytování služeb prostřednictvím internetu. Jedná se o konkrétní investiční záměr, do kterého jsem v minulosti poskytoval vstupy představitelům investora. Téma vnímám jako atraktivní a aktuální, protože popsané principy a metody hodnocení lze obecně převzít na téměř jakýkoliv investiční záměr bez ohledu na jeho velikost nebo typ. Cílem dokumentu je vysvětlení metod a principů hodnocení ekonomické výhodnosti investičních projektů a současně jejich aplikace na daný investiční záměr. Z toho vyplývá druhý a nejdůležitější cíl mé práce a tím je rozhodnutí, jestli je projekt vhodný k realizaci, či nikoliv. Práce využívá standardní metody hodnocení ekonomické výhodnosti investičních projektů, jako jsou např. doba úhrady, čistá současná hodnota, vnitřní výnosové procento nebo analýza citlivosti. Lze konstatovat, že oba vytčené cíle byly beze zbytku naplněny. V první části mé práce jsou uvedeny všechny základní metody hodnocení ekonomické výhodnosti včetně popisu stanovení a ohodnocení rizik a v druhé části jsou provedeny výpočty jednotlivých hodnotících kritérií s informací, jestli podle daného kritéria je nebo není doporučeno investiční záměr realizovat.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on assessing a capital investment that presents a project of a creating and a providing IT services through the internet network. The project itself is based on a real capital investment which I had an opportunity to support investor´s representatives. This topic is currently attractive due to a situation in the financial segment and also because all described methods and principles can be used anywhere else, no matter what kind of project is assessed. The goal of the thesis is to explain some economic assessment´s methods and principles and to use them for the assessment of the specific capital investment. As a result of that I can express the main goal that is to decide whether the project is suitable for its realization or not. My thesis uses some standard methods of the economic assessment such as payback period, net present value, internal rate of return or a sensitivity analysis. It is possible to state that both declared goals were fulfilled. The first part of the thesis summarises all basic methods of the economic assessment including a description of a risk determination and risk evaluation whereas the second part of my thesis shows necessary calculations of all financial criteria with information whether using of the criteria implies project´s realization or not.
