The role of behavioral economics in fighting the COVID19 pandemic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá využitím poznatků behaviorální ekonomie během pandemie Covid-19 se zaměřením na pošťuchování (nudge). Cílem práce je zjistit do jaké míry a s jakým účinkem byly během pandemie využívány nástroje behaviorální ekonomie. Teoretická část popisuje podstatu behaviorální ekonomie a praktiky, které mohou být využity při tvorbě a komunikaci veřejných politik. Rešerše vědeckých článků demonstruje široké využití těchto nástrojů v praxi. Výzkum práce poté tvoří replikace jedné ze studií, na základě kterého ověříme, zda jsou tyto postupy a nástroje aplikovatelné i za současných podmínek.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the use of behavioural economics knowledge during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a focus on nudges. The aim of the work is to find out to what extent and with what effect the tools of behavioural economics were used during the pandemic. The theoretical part describes the essence of behavioural economics and practices, which can be used in the creation and communication of public policies. An overview of scientific articles demonstrates the wide use of these tools in practice. The thesis research then consists of a replication of one of the studies, based on which we will verify whether these procedures and tools are also applicable under current conditions.
