Integration of Web Services in Service Systems Environment

Abstract:

Myšlenky servisně orientovaných architektur (SOA) a jejich realizace prostřednictvím technologie webových služeb jsou v současnosti velmi populárním tématem v oblasti IT. Popularita SOA a webových služeb má v informatice velký vliv na utváření chápání termínu služba. S příchodem iniciativy Service Science, Management and Engineering (SSME), která je reakcí na změny v současné ekonomice, však přichází i nový pohled na služby. V kontextu SSME je termínu služba připisován jiný význam, než jaký je mu připisován v kontextu SOA. Cílem teoretické části práce je objasnit nejasnosti ohledně chápání termínu služba v oblasti IT. K tomuto účelu je vytvořen konceptuální model oblastí SOA a webových služeb a obě oblasti jsou zasazeny do kontextu SSME. V praktické části pak práce navazuje na diplomové práce Vladimíra Dosoudila a Romana Duška, které představily obecnou koncepci integrace informací v prostředí servisních systémů založených na technologii znalostních a informačních robotů. Druhým praktičtěji orientovaným cílem práce je návrh komponenty pro integrační framework technologie znalostních a informačních robotů. Jedna se o integrační komponentu, která umožní servisním systémům postaveným na technologii znalostních a informačních robotů komplexní přístup k webovým službám.

Abstract:

Ideas of Service Oriented Architectures and their implementation using Web Services technology are very popular topics in the field of IT nowadays. The popularity of SOA and Web Services has a big impact on the way term "services" is understood by today's computer scientists and IT system's developers. New way of understanding services is coming with the rise of SSME initiative, which emerged as a reaction to changes in today's economics. The meaning of term "service" in the context of SSME is different from the meaning in the context of SOA. The objective of theoretical part of this work is to clarify dubiousness in the meaing of term "service" in the field of IT. To this end conceptual model of SOA and Web Services domains is created and presented, and both domains are put in the context of SSME. The practical part of this work is a follow-up of the diploma theses of Vladimír Dosoudil and Roman Dušek, who introduced general concept of information integration in the context of service systems built upon the technology of Knowledge and Information Robots. The second, more practically oriented objective of the thesis, is to design a component for use in the integration framework of Knowledge and information Robots. The component should enable complex acces to web services for the service systems build upont the technology of Knowledge and Information Robots.
