Snahou předkládané diplomové práce s názvem Specifika české hudební sémiotiky je postihnout, čím se tento obor v české, respektive československé muzikologii profiloval. Zároveň se práce zamýšlí nad tím, proč u nás dnes již prakticky vůbec není o hudební sémiotiku zájem, přestože v minulosti byl tento obor velmi populární. The main effort of this thesis, entitled The Specifics of Czech Music Semiotics is to describe what were the main characteristics of this field in Czech, or Czechoslovak musicology. At the same time the thesis reflects on the question, why it is so that nowadays almost no Czech musicologists are interested in music semiotics, even though this field was so popular in the past.
