Possibilities of community composting in the Ústí nad Labem

Abstract:

Diplomová práce vychází z požadavků legislativy na postupný zákaz ukládání biologicky rozložitelného odpadu na skládky. Tato práce se zabývá obecným shrnutím problematiky nakládání s biologicky rozložitelným odpadem a je zaměřena konkrétně na možnosti komunitního kompostování ve městě Ústí nad Labem. Praktická část je zaměřena na zmapování komunitních kompostérů na území města a výstavbu nových kompostérů na území univerzitního kampusu. V rámci diplomové práce byly odebírány vzorky ze 3 typů kompostérů. Vzorky byly analyzovány na kovy pomocí metody ICP-MS. Zároveň byly hodnoceny chemické a fyzikální vlastnosti kompostu podle ČSN 46 5735. Výsledné hodnoty byly porovnány s limitními hodnotami Vyhlášky č. 273/2021 Sb. o podrobnostech nakládání s odpady. Až na vlhkost v plastovém kompostéru Siva, vzorky vyhověly. V závěru práce je navrženo i doporučení pro město Ústí nad Labem, jak podpořit sběr biologicky rozložitelných odpadů pomocí komunitního kompostování.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is based on the legislative requirements for the gradual ban of biodegradable waste in landfills. This thesis deals with a general summary of the issue of handling biodegradable waste and is specifically focused on the possibilities of community composting in the city of Ústí nad Labem. The practical part is focused on mapping community composters in the city and building new composters on the university campus. As part of the thesis, samples were taken from 3 types of composters. Samples were analyzed for metals using ICP-MS methods. At the same time, the chemical and physical properties of the compost were evaluated according to ČSN 46 5735. The resulting values were compared with the limit values of Decree No. 273/2021 Coll. on waste management details. Except for the humidity in the Siva plastic composter, the samples passed. At the end of the thesis, a recommendation is proposed for the city of Ústí nad Labem on how to support the collection of biodegradable waste using community composting.
