The level of reading literacy as a success factor pupils in school

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá čtenářskou gramotností jako faktorem školní úspěšnosti. Teoretická část objasňuje pojmy dané problematiky, a to gramotnost, funkční gramotnost, oblasti funkční gramotnosti, čtenářskou gramotnost a faktory, které ji ovlivňují, dále čtenářské dovednosti, čtenářské kompetence, čtenářské strategie a z metod výuky se věnujeme metodám kritického myšlení. Empirická část se věnuje výzkumnému šetření dvou výzkumných objektů žáků a učitelů 9. tříd základní školy. Cílem práce je pomocí didaktického testu zjistit, zda úroveň čtenářské gramotnosti ovlivňuje školní úspěšnost žáka, dále pomocí kvalitativního dotazníku zjistit, jak žáci chápou pojmy spojené se čtenářskou gramotností a nakonec s použitím strukturovaného dotazníku zjistit, jaké metody výuky, typy textů a učebních materiálů používají učitelé ve výuce.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with reading literacy as success factor pupils in school. The theoretical part explains the terms of the issue, namely literacy, functional literacy, kinds of functional literacy, reading literacy and factors that influence it, next reading skills, reading competencies, reading strategies and from the methods of teaching we deal with the methods of critical thinking. The empirical part is devoted to the research of two research objects of pupils and teachers of the 9th grade of primary school. The object of the thesis is find using with didactic test whether the level of reading literacy influences the pupil's school success, and by using a qualitative questionnaire to find out how pupils understand the concepts related with reading literacy and in the end with using a structured questionnaire to find, what teaching methods, types of texts and teaching materials used by teachers in their teaching.
