Film in a french class teaching

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of the use of film screening within the French language teaching. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the screening of films can be considered as appropriate and effective method of foreign language teaching. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical and didactical issues that can be encountered while using the film screening during the lesson and also on the use of subtitles. The second part focuses on the results of the research carried out through a questionnaire which was distributed among the French language teachers. The teachers were asked about the technical facilities at Czech schools and about their experience with the film screening during the lessons. The third part focuses on the actual film screening of the film called Petit Nicolas which was chosen for its appropriateness for the students' level of knowledge of the language and also because it suits the aim of our lesson. The film is being screened in parts and each part serves as the basis for one lesson. There are also exercise sheets prepared for each part of the film with relevant pedagogical exercises.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je uvedení do problematiky užití filmu ve výuce francouzštiny. Zajímá nás, zdali film může sloužit jako vhodná metoda ve výuce cizích jazyků. Práce je rozdělena na tři části. První část se věnuje teorii, didaktickému přínosu, problémům, na které můžeme narazit při použití filmu ve výuce, a užití titulků. Druhá část je věnovaná výzkumu, který proběhl mezi učiteli a lektory francouzského jazyka. Pomocí dotazníku jsme se ptali na reálné technické vybavení na českých školách a na jejich zkušenosti s užitím filmu v hodinách francouzského jazyka. Nakonec se budeme zabývat zvoleným filmem. Jedná se o film Petit Nicolas ? Mikulášovy patálie, který je vhodný pro náš vzdělávací záměr a odpovídá úrovni studentů. Film se dělí na jednotlivé části, každá slouží pro samostatnou výukovou jednotku. Pro každou část filmu jsme realizovali pracovní listy s příslušnými pedagogickými cvičeními.
