Ethical issues in the application of artificial intelligence

Abstract:

Umělá inteligence se už objevuje skoro v každé oblasti lidské činnosti, proto je nutné zabývat se i etickými zásadami při jejím používání. Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na etické otázky aplikace umělé inteligence. Hlavním cílem této práce je na základě literární rešerše identifikovat a prozkoumat nejzásadnější etické principy v oblasti AI. Vedlejším cílem je pak ukázat nedostatky těchto etických principů v konkrétních situacích. K tomu je použita případová studie pro oblast autonomních vozidel. V první části práce je představen pojem umělá inteligence a jsou vysvětleny jednotlivé složky umělé inteligence. Dále jsou představeny hlavní milníky v historii umělé inteligence, které formovaly tento obor a ovlivnily jeho současný stav. V práci jsou také ukázány vybrané oblasti aplikace umělé inteligence. Další část se věnuje etice jako filozofické disciplíně a etice ve vztahu k umělé inteligenci. Zejména základním etickým principům.

Abstract:

Artificial intelligence is already appearing in almost every area of human activity and it is therefore necessary to address the ethical principles involved in its use. This bachelor thesis focuses on the ethical issues of the application of artificial intelligence. The main objective of this thesis is to identify and explore the most important ethical principles in the field of AI based on a literature search. A secondary aim is then to show the shortcomings of these ethical principles in specific situations. To do so, a case study for the field of autonomous vehicles is used. In the first part of the paper, the concept of artificial intelligence is introduced and the different components of AI are explained. Then, the main milestones in the history of artificial intelligence that have shaped the field and influenced its current state are presented. Selected areas of application of artificial intelligence are also shown in the thesis. The next section focuses on ethics as a philosophical discipline and ethics in relation to artificial intelligence. In particular, basic ethical principles.
