Parallel algorithms for image processing

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce se zabývá metodami příznakové detekce v obrazu a jejich takovou implementací, která umožní jejich aplikaci pomocí paralelní architektury, standardně grafického procesoru. Takto použité algoritmy dosahují mnohem lepších výsledků, a to zejména v časové doméně, než jejich sekvenční varianty, čímž se celé předzpracování obrazu stává použitelné pro real-timové aplikace i na běžných počítačích či malých zařízeních typu chytrého mobilního telefonu. Mezi použité architektury umožňující běh algoritmu na grafickém procesoru patří zejména programovatelné shadery.

Abstract:

This dissertation thesis deals with methods of feature detection in the image and their implementation, which will allow their application using parallel architecture, as a graphics processor. These algorithms achieve much better results, especially in the time domain than their sequential variants, making image pre-processing all the more usable for real-time applications on ordinary computers or small smartphone devices. The architecture used to run the algorithm on the graphics processor includes programmable shaders.
