Specific needs of a child with trauma

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je zjistit a porovnat specifické potřeby u dětí s psychickým traumatem a popsat jak děti traumatické situace prožívají. Dílčí cíle výzkumu jsou zaměřeny na to, jak traumatický zážitek ovlivňuje dítě v oblasti potřeb fyzických, psychických, sociálních a duchovních a také, jakou má dítě jistotu a oporu v rodině nebo jeho přátelích. Metodika: Pro sběr dat sloužil kvalitativní výzkum formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a pozorování. Výzkumu, který probíhal od prosince 2017 do února 2018, se účastnilo 10 dětí školního věku a adolescence, které byly buď hospitalizovány na dětském oddělení Psychiatrické nemocnice v Opavě, nebo docházely ambulantně za psychiatrem a psychoterapeutem do CNS Centra s.r.o. v Třinci. Výsledky: Průzkumné šetření ukázalo, že vliv psychického traumatu na dítě ovlivňuje jeho chování a řešení konfliktních situací, ovlivňuje dítě po stránce fyzické (poruchy spánku, zvýšená únava), psychické (nedostatečná sebedůvěra, nedostatek pocitu jistoty, nedostatek potřeby smysluplného světa, hodnot, struktury rodiny), sociální (narušení sociálních vztahů, potíže ve škole, zhoršený prospěch, zhoršené soustředění, poruchy chování, chození za školu, útěky z domova). Duchovní potřeby všech 10 dětí byly uspokojeny. Závěr: Na závěr této diplomové práce lze konstatovat, že psychické trauma a prožívání stresových událostí a okolností v životě dítěte ovlivňují jeho zkušenost a mohou mít důsledky pro jeho budoucí život. Tyto události mají vliv na děti, ale i na rodiče a příbuzné. Je důležité nepodceňovat traumatický zážitek, který dítě prožilo.

Abstract:

Aims: The main goal of this diploma thesis is to elicit and compare the specific needs of children with mental trauma and to describe how children experience traumatic situations. The sub-aims of this research are focused on how the traumatic experience affects the child in the area of physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs, as well as the child's safety zone and support of the family or his / her friends. Methodology: This thesis uses qualitative research for data acquisition in the form of semi-structured interviews and observation. This research which ran from 12/2017 to 02/2018 was focused on 10 children of school age and adolescence who were either hospitalized at the Children's Psychiatric Hospital in Opava or were consulting a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist at the CNS Center s.r.o. in Třinec. Results: The survey has shown that the influence of psychic trauma on a child influences his / her behavior and conflict solving, how it influences the child in terms of physical (sleep disorder, increased fatigue), psychical (lack of self-confidence, lack of sense of security, lack of a need for a meaningful world, values), social (disruption of social relationships, school and school performance problems, impaired concentration, behavioral disorders, skipping school, homelessness). Spiritual needs of all 10 children in question were met. Conclusion: At the end of this diploma thesis, it can be concluded that psychological trauma and experiencing stressful events and circumstances in a child's life affect his or her experience and can have consequences for his or her future life. These events affect children, but also their parents and relatives. It is important not to underestimate the trauma experienced by the child.
