The submitted thesis deals with the identity and the solitude in the poetry of contemporary Belgian poet Jacques Crickillon. The basis for our research was formed by the collection of poems L´Indien de la Gare du Nord that the poet published in 1985. Předložená práce pojednává o tématu identity a samoty.Podkladem pro studii tématu je básnická sbírka L´Indien de la Gare du Nord, jejímž autorem je současný belgický básník Jacques Crickillon. Práce se podrobněji zabývá procesem hledání identity v postmoderní společnosti velkoměsta, ve které žije básnický subjekt v osamění, vzhledem k tomu, že tato společnost neakceptuje jeho odlišnost.
