Analysis of the Business Intelligence market

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o problematice Business Intelligence. Jejím cílem je uvést čtenáře do této oblasti informatiky od základu, aby se v ní mohl bez problému orientovat, a představit mu také nejvýznamnější trendy, které v této oblasti v současné době panují. V první části se čtenář může seznámit s definicí pojmu Business Intelligence i s definicemi souvisejících pojmů, které je třeba ovládat, a zároveň také nahlédnout do historie, která ke vzniku BI vedla. Dále je popsán základní cíl Business Intelligence a s ním i přínosy, které podnik po zavedení BI řešení může čerpat. Práce také obsahuje obecnou architekturu, kterou BI řešení obvykle mají, a již zmiňované trendy Business Intelligence jsou obsaženy v závěru teoretické části. V druhé části práce si může čtenář prohlédnout ukázkový návrh BI řešení pro společnost Axis Optik, s.r.o. a také se seznámit s výsledky průzkumu mezi společnostmi, které se v této oblasti na českém trhu pohybují.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis discusses matters of Business Intelligence. Its goal is to introduce the reader to the basics of this particular area of informatics so that he is able to understand its core, and also to present the most significant trends that can be currently observed in the field. Firstly, the reader is presented the definition of Business Intelligence, other related terms which are inevitably linked with this topic and also with an overview of formation of BI. Further is the description of the main goal of Business Intelligence and the benefits which it can provide to companies. The thesis also details the general Business Intelligence architecture that is usually employed in BI solutions. The previously mentioned BI trends are included at the end of the theoretic part of the thesis. In the second part of the thesis the reader can acquaint himself with the initial steps of a BI solution for a company called Axis Optik, Ltd. and browse the results of a research conducted by companies that are part of the Czech market with Business Intelligence solutions.
