Preparedness police officers for work with ethnic minority

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem mé bakalářské práce je příprava policistů na práci s příslušníky etnických menšin. Úvodní část práce je věnována Policii České republiky, jaké je její postavení v systému ČR a jakým způsobem jsou policisté připravování a vzdělávání. Podrobně se zde zabývám etickým kodexem policie, který velmi úzce souvisí s další částí práce a tou jsou etnické menšiny. V této kapitole se zejména zabývám rasismem a diskriminací menšin a jsou zde představeny vybrané etnické menšiny na území České republiky. Bakalářská práce je rozdělená na dvě části - teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části jsem vysvětloval základní pojmy etnikum a menšina a přiblížil práci policistů s etnickými menšinami a jejich přípravu na ni. V této části práce jsem převážně čerpal z literatury a z poznatků získaných při studiu. V praktické části byl základem dotazník, kde se respondenti - policisté vyjadřovali k otázkám týkajícím se osobnosti policisty, ale i přímého výkonu služby souvisejícího s etnickými menšinami a také k možnostem dalšího vzdělávání v rámci policie.

Abstract:

The main topic of my bachelor thesis is the preparation of police officers to work with members of ethnic minorities. The introductory part of thesis is devoted to the Police of the Czech Republic, what is its position in the Czech system and how police officers are preparing and training. Here I deal in detail with the code of ethics of the police, which is very closely related to another part of thesis, and that is ethnic minorities. In this chapter I deal mainly with racism and discrimination of minorities and there are selected ethnic minorities in the Czech Republic. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, I explained the basic concepts of ethnicity and minority and approached the work of police officers with ethnic minorities and their preparation for it. In this part of thesis, I mainly drew from the literature and the knowledge gained during the study. In the practical part, the basis was a questionnaire, where respondents - police officers commented on questions concerning the personality of the police officer, but also the direct performance of services related to ethnic minorities, as well as the possibilities of further training within the police.
