Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá aktuální problematikou specifického druhu malwaru, který se nazývá botnet. Cílem práce je uvést běžného uživatele do předmětné problematiky, popsat rizika, která pro něj botnety představují, a také představit možnosti detekce botnetů, a to jak v konkrétním počítači, tak i v lokální síti. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části je popsána předmětná problematika botnetů, jejich životní cyklus, historie, druhy a také možnosti jejich využití. Dále jsou v teoretické části uvedena rizika, která botnety představují pro domácnosti a firmy. V závěru teoretické části jsou popsány reakce státu na botnety, nebo přesněji na kyberkriminalitu celkově, v podobě zvláštních institucí a zákonů. Praktická část obsahuje popis způsobů, kterými může běžný uživatel odhalit působení botnetu ve svém domácím počítači. V další části je uveden popis pokročilých způsobů detekce, spolu s možnými protiopatřeními. Závěr praktické části je věnován ukázce reálného botnetu v kontrolovaném prostředí virtuální sítě počítačů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on current issues with a specific type of malware that is called botnet. The goal is to introduce an ordinary user to this problem, describe the risks that botnets represent for him, and also introduce some ways how to detect botnets in the particular computer or on local network. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes the substantive problems of botnets, their life cycle, history, types, and ways how to use them. Furthermore, the theoretical part explains the risks posed by botnets to homes and companies. At the end of the theoretical part describes the responses of State to botnets, or more generally on cyber crime, in the form of specific institutions and laws. The practical part contains a description of the ways in which the ordinary user can detect botnet activity in their home computer. The next section of practical part describes the advanced detection methods, along with possible countermeasures. The end of practical part is dedicated to the demonstration of real botnet in the controlled environment of a virtual network of computers.
