Abstract:

Cross layer proactive temperature and workload aware task scheduler (ProTAS) [1] has proved to have performed better than the traditional Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS) to reduce temperature of chips. The theoretical part of the work will study the internal model used in the ProTAS scheduler and describe various architectural parameters used by the model for temperature and activity factor prediction. The practical part of the work will examine possible attacks on the ProTAS scheduler to analyze the effect on performance caused by malicious programs.
