Application of the CPTED Methodology Within the Selected Object

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá metodikou CPTED a její aplikací na severní část parku Svobody ve Zlíně. Cílem je zvýšit bezpečnost a kvalitu tohoto veřejného prostoru prostřednictvím konkrétních opatření vycházejících z principů CPTED. V teoretické části je popsán historický vývoj CPTED, včetně klíčových postav jako C. Ray Jeffery, Oscar Newman, Timothy Crowe a Randy Atlas. Analyzovány jsou také právní aspekty CPTED, včetně ústavního zákona, trestního zákoníku a norem prevence kriminality. Kapitola o analýze a řízení rizik se zaměřuje na metody jako checklist, SWOT analýza, metoda KARS a what-if analýza. Závěrečná teoretická kapitola představuje strategie CPTED a základní principy pro efektivní prevenci kriminality. Praktická část se soustředí na aplikaci metodiky CPTED na severní část parku Svobody ve Zlíně. Byla vytvořena 3D kopie parku v aplikaci Blender, do které byly vizualizovány navrhované změny, jako je zvýšení osvětlení, zavedení kamerového systému, odstranění nebezpečných zákoutí, zlepšení přehlednosti a estetického vzhledu parku a instalace komunitních prvků, jako jsou lavičky, odpadkové koše a jednoduchá kavárna.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the CPTED methodology and its application to the northern part of park Svobody in Zlín. The goal is to enhance the safety and quality of this public space through specific measures based on CPTED principles. The theoretical part describes the historical development of CPTED, including key figures such as C. Ray Jeffery, Oscar Newman, Timothy Crowe, and Randy Atlas. It also analyzes the legal aspects of CPTED, including the constitutional law, the criminal code, and crime prevention standards. The chapter on risk analysis and management focuses on methods such as checklists, SWOT analysis, the KARS method, and what-if analysis. The final theoretical chapter presents CPTED strategies and fundamental principles for effective crime prevention. The practical part concentrates on the application of the CPTED methodology to the northern part of park Svobody in Zlín. A 3D model of the park was created in Blender, into which the proposed changes were visualized. These changes include increased lighting, the introduction of a camera system, the elimination of dangerous corners, improved visibility and aesthetic appearance of the park, and the installation of community elements such as benches, trash bins, and a simple caffee house.
