Piano Fugue - History and Present

Abstract:

Diplomová práce nejprve naznačuje průběh ustálení fugy jako pojmu, který je definován na základě hudebně-teoretických vývojových tendencí, nabízí ucelený přehled o vývoji fugy, zabývá se dobou předcházející vzniku svébytné hudební formy období baroka, aby se dále věnovala proměnám fugy v čase a na pozadí hudebně-společenské situace tyto změny objasnila. Vymezení fugy obecně nabízí možnost lépe se orientovat a dále konkretizovat klavírní fugu v díle vybraných skladatelů, aby byl potvrzen předpoklad o neutuchajícím (větším či menším) zájmu o odkaz barokní hudby, o odkaz J. S. Bacha, a především tedy o nejdokonalejší kontrapunktickou hudební formu polyfonní.

Abstract:

This dissertation describes the course of consolidation of the fugue as a term, which is defined on the basis of trends of development in music theory; it offers comprehensive overview of development of the fugue; it examines the span of time before the origination of a distinctive musical form of the baroque period in order to further analyze changes of the fugue in time and to describe them on the musical-social background. Definition of the fugue offers an opportunity to become knowledgeable in the issue of the piano fugue and to further specify it in the works of selected composers so that it can confirm the assumption of unflagging interest in the legacy of the baroque music, of Johann Sebastian Bach and thus interest in the most pure contrapuntal polyphonic musical form.
