The delinquency of the young in the relation to the sense and goals of life

Abstract:

Diplomová práce má teoreticko-empirický charakter a zaměřuje se na problematiku delikvence mládeže a fenomén smyslu života. V první, teoretické, části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy jako mládež, dospívání a jeho hlavní charakteristiky, delikvence, kriminalita a její prevence. Dále jsou zde nastíněny faktory, které mohou zvyšovat riziko delikventního chování jako vliv rodiny, školy, vrstevnických skupin a v neposlední řadě působení masmédií. Součástí teoretické pasáže jsou základní poznatky týkající se smyslu života, jeho druhů, zdrojů, komponentů a popisu faktorů úspěšného vytváření smysluplného života. Druhá, tedy empirická, část obsahuje cíle výzkumného procesu, popis použitých metod, zkoumaného vzorku a výsledky výzkumu. Hlavním cílem empirického šetření bylo zmapovat vztah vnímání smyslu života mezi mládeží z výchovných ústavů a studenty gymnázia. Konkrétně, zda se mládež liší v sebeakceptaci, ve vnímaní svobody, ve vnímaní budoucnosti, v afirmaci života, ve vnímaní cílů a v postoji ke smrti. Dílčí cíle se vztahovaly k rozdílům vnímání smyslu života s ohledem na pohlaví, věk a sociální prostředí respondentů, ve kterém žijí.

Abstract:

The thesis has both theoretical and empirical character and focuses on the problems of youth delinquency together with the phenomenon of sense of life. In the first, theoretical part there appear definitions of basic notions like youth, adolescence and their main characteristics, delinquency, criminality and its prevention. Further I foreshadow factors witch may increase the risk of delinquent behavior, like the impact of family, school, coeval groups and last but not least the influence of media. As a part of the theoretical passage I state the basic knowledge having to do with the sense of life, its kinds, sources and components together with description of factors leading to a successful creation of meaningful life. The second, empirical part involves the objectives of investigative proccess, description of the examined sample and the methods having been applied, as well as the interpretation of the research conclusions. The main goal of the empirical research was to map the life sense as it is perceived by delinquent and nondelinquent youth. Precisely to find out whether young people differ in self-acceptation, in understanding freedom and perceiving future, in affirmation of life and perceiving goals, as well as the attitude towards death. Partial objectives are related to the differences of perceiving the life sense with respect to the sex, age and social milieu of the respondents.
