The Influence of Sensory Activation on Quality of Life of Seniors with Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem smyslové aktivizace na kvalitu života seniorů s Alzheimerovou chorobou. Teoretická část práce vymezuje pojmy stáří a stárnutí, demence, Alzheimerova choroba a Alzheimerova choroba v rodině. Poté se práce zaměřuje na kvalitu života, ucelené rehabilitace, nejčastěji využívané terapie ve speciální pedagogice a koncept smyslové aktivizace. V závěru je teoretická část věnována sociálním službám, definici sociálních služeb a také jejich hlavnímu účelu, dále se zabývá zákonem o sociálních službách a příspěvky na péči, charakteristice domovů pro seniory a domovů se zvláštním režimem a domácí péči o seniory. Empirická část se zabývá vlivem smyslové aktivizace a kvalitu života seniorů. Na základě informacích získaných výzkumnou technikou participačního pozorování, analýzou výsledků činnosti a rozhovory jsou zpracovány případové studie pěti informantů s Alzheimerovou chorobou.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the influence of Sensory Activation on the quality of life of seniors with Alzheimerʾs disease. The theoretical part determines the terms age, ageing, dementia, Alzheimerʾs disease and Alzheimerʾs disease in a family. Then, the thesis is focused on quality of life, comprehensive rehabilitation, therapies used in special education and the concept of Sensory Activation. In the conclusion, the theoretical part is devoted to social services, the main purpose and definition of the social service, Social Services Act and an allowance for care, characterization of retirement homes and homes with the special regime and home care for seniors. The empirical part of the thesis is focused on the influence of Sensory Activation on the quality of life of seniors with Alzheimerʾs disease. Based on essential information gained through the research technique of participation observation, analysis of practical results, interviews are completed five case studies of informants with Alzheimerʾs disease.
