Support of Roma Pupils in Education from the Perspective of Elementary School Teachers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá možnostmi podpory romských žáků v oblasti vzdělávání, a to zvláště těch, kteří potřebují poskytnout podporu z důvodu sociálního znevýhodnění, z pohledu pedagogů vybraných základních škol v Ústeckém kraji. Teoretická východiska práce vycházejí z aktuálních poznatků v oblasti sociálního znevýhodnění a sociálního vyloučení, poznatků o problematice vzdělávacích nerovností na podkladě socioekonomického a sociokulturního statusu a možnostech jejich překonávání. Zároveň jsou zahrnuty možnosti podpory romských žáků v české perspektivě. Empirická část práce je zaměřena na prezentaci výsledků kvantitativně orientovaného výzkumného šetření, které cílí na analýzu možností poskytování podpory romským žákům z rodin v nepříznivé sociální situaci, a to z pohledu pedagogů vybraných základních škol v Ústeckém kraji. Výzkum je realizován prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření a respondenty jsou pedagogičtí pracovníci vybraných základních škol v tomto kraji. Výstupem diplomové práce jsou strukturovaná doporučení a návrhy pro možné změny v oblasti poskytování podpory uvedené cílové skupiny.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of supporting Roma pupils in the field of education, especially those who need support due to social disadvantage, from the point of view of pedagogues of selected primary schools in the Ústí Region. The theoretical basis of the work is based on current findings in the field of social disadvantage and social exclusion, findings on the issue of educational inequalities based on socio-economic and socio-cultural status and the possibilities of overcoming them. At the same time, the possibilities of supporting Roma pupils in the Czech perspective are included. The empirical part of the work is focused on the presentation of the results of a quantitatively oriented research investigation, which aims to analyze the possibilities of providing support to Roman pupils in an unfavorable social situation, from the point of view of pedagogues of selected elementary schools in the Ústí Region. The research is conducted through a questionnaire survey and the respondents are teaching staff of selected primary schools in this region. The output of the thesis is structured recommendations and proposals for possible changes in the area of providing support to the mentioned target group.
