Acute Carbon Monoxide Intoxication from the Perspective of a Paramedic

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je akutní intoxikace oxidu uhelnatého z pohledu zdravotnického záchranáře. Cílem práce je důraz na včasné rozpoznání intoxikace oxidem uhelnatým a rizika pro posádku zdravotnické záchranné služby při zásahu. Teoretická část je zaměřena na oxid uhelnatý, jeho výskyt a příznaky intoxikace oxidu uhelnatého. Dále anatomii dýchacího systému a patologický dopad oxidu uhelnatého na pacienta. Cílem teoretické části je popsat klinické příznaky intoxikace oxidem uhelnatým, jeho léčbu a následné směřování do zdravotnického zařízení, dále také na bezpečnost při zásahu pro posádku zdravotnické záchranné služby. V praktické části jsou vypracovány kazuistiky z přednemocniční neodkladné péče z poskytnutých materiálů Zdravotnické záchranné služby hlavního města Prahy. Cílem praktické části je popis tří odborně zajímavých a precedentních kazuistik ošetření pacienta s intoxikací oxidem uhelnatým v přednemocniční neodkladné péči a sestavení odborného doporučení pro praxi zdravotnického záchranáře.

Abstract:

The subject of the bachelor's thesis is acute carbon monoxide intoxication from the point of view of a paramedic. The aim of the thesis is to emphasize the early recognition of carbon monoxide poisoning and the risk for the crew of the medical rescue service during an intervention. The theoretical part is focused on carbon monoxide, its occurrence and symptoms of carbon monoxide intoxication. Furthermore, the anatomy of the respiratory system and the pathological impact of carbon monoxide on the patient. The aim of the theoretical part is to describe the clinical symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, its treatment and subsequent referral to a medical facility, as well as safety during intervention for the crew of the medical rescue service. In the practical part, case studies of pre-hospital emergency care are prepared from the materials provided by the Medical Rescue Service of the Capital City of Prague. The aim of the practical part is the description of three professionally interesting and precedent case studies of the treatment of a patient with carbon monoxide intoxication in pre-hospital emergency care and the compilation of a professional recommendation for the practice of a paramedic.
