Mobile Game Using Augmented Reality

Abstract:

The goal of this work was to explore current options in the field of augmented reality, specifically then to address the area of developing games that use this technology and to research already existing games of this type. A prototype of a Tamagotchi type game was created within the work, which uses features of augmented reality such as planes detection and image tracking. The prototype enables playing the game even without using the augmented reality. A user study took place, which compared the two versions of the game. The users played the game for several days and they tried both verions during the testing. The feedback consisted of a questionnaire, whose answers were evaluated and results were deduced.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto práce bolo preskúmať súčasné možnosti v oblasti rozšírenej reality, konkrétne sa potom venovať vývoju hier využívajúcich túto technológiu a prebádať už existujúce hry tohto typu. V rámci práce vznikol prototyp hry typu Tamagotchi, ktorý využíva funkcie rozšírenej reality a to detekciu plôch a sledovanie obrázku. Prototyp umožňuje hru hrať aj bez využitia rozšírenej reality. Prebehla používateľská štúdia, ktorá porovnávala tieto dve verzie hry. Počas testovania používatelia hru hrali niekoľko dní a vyskúšali si obidve verzie. Spätnou väzbou bol dotazník, ktorého odpovede boli zhodnotené a vyvodené výsledky.
