Evaluation of emotional intelligence of college students

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na téma emoční inteligence a posuzuje se stupeň emoční inteligence studentů NEWTON College. Emoční inteligenci zahrnují určité oblasti schopností - sociální dovednosti, empatie, rozpoznat a kontrolovat své vlastní emoce. V teoretické části bakalářské práce jsou vymezeny složky emoční inteligence a další základní pojmy jako jsou emoce a funkce emocí. V praktické části byl výzkum zrealizován metodou dotazníkového šetření, hlavním nástrojem výzkumu byl zvolen dotazník, respondenty výzkumu jsou studenti NEWTON College manažerských oborů 1.–3. ročníků. Dále byl proveden kvalitativní rozhovor se 5 studenty pro získání informací hlubšího charakteru. Po sběru dat se praktická část věnuje vyhodnocení a srovnání výsledků výzkumného šetření.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the problematic of emotional intelligence and analyses the development of emotional intelligence of college students. Emotional intelligence is a form of social intelligence that involves not only the ability to express and control our emotions but also the ability to identify and understand what others experience. The theoretical part focuses on the explanation of specialized terms such as social skill, empathy, emotion and emerging adulthood. The practical part was realized by quantitative research using a questionnaire, the questioned subjects were students of NEWTON College. Another used method was a semi-structured open-ended interview design that allows exploring the perceptions of five students. Then follows the part dedicated to an evaluation and comparison of the research.
