The integration of visually handicapped persons

Abstract:

Cílem disertační práce je zmapování elementárních faktorů, které mají výrazný vliv na život nevidomých a slabozrakých osob. Jedná se o klíčová témata a primární oblasti, jež přímo tendují k alternativám sociální integrace. Rovněž se zaměřujeme na analýzu souvislostí mezi výběrem strategií vedoucích ke zvládání zátěže u zrakově znevýhodněných osob. Disertační práce je koncipována s ohledem na stěžejní faktory, kterými jsou: stupeň zrakové vady, předsudky vůči nevidomým a slabozrakým lidem, komplikace vzhledem ke zrakovému znevýhodnění, sociální opora, pohlaví, věk a zvládání zátěže.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to describe the fundamental factors that have a significant impact on the lives of blind and partially sighted people. These are the primary key topics and areas which directly tend to alternatives of social integration. We also focus on analysing relationships within the selection of strategies leading to coping with the visually disadvantaged. The dissertation is drafted with regard to the main factors, which are: the degree of visual defects, prejudices against the blind and partially-sighted people, complications due to visual disadvantage, social support, gender, age, and dealing with the strain.
