French political song

Abstract:

The present thesis deals with the phenomenon of French political songs which is a witness for the historical evolution of French society. Analyzing both historical and contemporary songs – which are presented within the cultural and historical context of the country – the thesis examines the character of the engaged songs as well as the engagement of their authors with respect to the historical and political events in France. Then the thesis deals in details with a recent music style – French rap. Thus, the primary objective of the thesis is to provide for an overview of French political songs as well as to propose the practical usage of these songs within the courses of French studies which interconnects the teaching of foreign language with knowledge of history, social sciences or culturology.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá fenoménem „francouzské politicky angažované písně“, která nám podává svědectví o historickém vývoji francouzské společnosti. Na základě analýzy písní historických i současných, které jsou uvedeny v kulturně-historickém kontextu země, práce zkoumá charakter angažované písně i angažovanost jejich tvůrců, vzhledem k historickým a politickým událostem ve Francii. Poté se detailněji zabývá novodobým hudebním žánrem, francouzským rapem. Hlavním cílem práce je tedy podat přehled o francouzských politicky angažovaných písních, jakož i navrhnout jejich praktické využití při výuce francouzských reálií, a propojit tak výuku cizího jazyka se znalostmi s oborů historie, občanské výchovy či kultury.
