Cognitive Rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy in Individuals with Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract:

ÚVOD Teoretická část definuje pojmy stáří, Alzheimerovu chorobu, pojem kognitivní funkce a jejich rozdělení. Následně je popsána kognitivní rehabilitace, testy a dotazníky související s vyšetřením kognitivních funkcí s navazující ergoterapeutickou intervencí u osob trpících Alzheimerovou chorobou z pohledu ergoterapeuta. CÍL PRÁCE Cílem této práce je zlepšit povědomí o uplatnění ergoterapie u osob s Alzheimerovou chorobou. METODIKA V bakalářské práci byl využit semistrukturovaný rozhovor k odebrání anamnézy, dále standardizované testy zaměřené na kognitivní funkce a aktivity denního života, a pozorování klientky při různých úkonech v rámci terapie. VÝSLEDKY Vyhodnocení změn proběhlých po aplikaci ergoterapeutické intervence na základě vstupního a výstupního hodnocení a následná komparace se stanovenými cíli terapie. ZÁVĚR Záměrem této bakalářské práce je splnění cíle a úkolů práce pomocí ergoterapeutických postupů a metod.

Abstract:

INTRODUCTION The theoretical part defines the concepts of old age, Alzheimer's disease, the concept of cognitive function and their distribution. Subsequently, describes cognitive rehabilitation, tests and questionnaires related to the examination of cognitive functions with successive occupational therapy intervention for persons suffering from Alzheimer's disease are described from the perspective of an occupational therapist. THE AIM OF THE THESIS The aim of this work is to improve awarness of the use of occupational therapy in people with Alzheimer's disease. METHODOLOGY In my bachelor´s thesis, I used a semi-structured interview to take an anamnesis, further standardized tests focused on cognitive functions and activities of daily living, and observation of the client during various actions as part of the therapy. RESULTS Evaluation of changes occurring after the application of occupational therapy intervention on the basis of input and output assessment. CONCLUSION The intention of this bachelor thesis is to fulfil the aim and objectives of the thesis by using occupational therapy techniques and methods.
