Life Satisfaction of Single Parents

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá životní spokojeností rodičů samoživitelů. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část empirickou. Teoretická část práce se následně rozčleňuje do čtyř kapitol. V úvodní kapitole je popsána rodina v proměnách času, role v rodině a její funkce. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na fenomén samoživitelství v současné společnosti, jeho příčiny a možné ohrožení rodičů samoživitelů chudobou a sociálním vyloučením. Ve třetí kapitole je popsána pomoc rodičům samoživitelům ze strany státu a sociální politiky, a to konkrétně přímá finanční podpora, nepřímá finanční podpora i jiná nefinanční podpora. Poslední kapitola se věnuje samotné problematice životní spokojenosti, osobní pohodě, kvalitě života a štěstí. Empirická část této práce je realizována formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se samotnými rodiči samoživiteli. Cílem této práce je tedy popsat proces formování životní spokojenosti pohledem rodičů samoživitelů a také porozumět faktorům, které ovlivňují životní spokojenost rodičů samoživitelů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the life satisfaction of single parents. The work is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis is then divided into four chapters. In the introductory chapter, the family is described in changes in time, roles in the family and its functions. The second chapter focused on the phenomenon of single parenting in contemporary society, its causes and possible threat of single parents of poverty and social exclusion. The third chapter describes the help or assistance to single parents from the state and social policy, specifically direct financial support, indirect financial support and other non-financial support. The last chapter is devoted to the issue of life satisfaction, personal well-being, the quality of life and happiness. The empirical part of this work ihas been realized by semi-structured interviews with single parents. The aim of this work is describing the process of forming life satisfaction from the point of view of single parents as well as comprehending the factors which influence the life satisfaction of single parents.
