Competency Model in Selected Organisation

Abstract:

V dnešní hektické a vysoce konkurenční době je lidský kapitál jedním z nejdůležitějších zdrojů, který organizace vlastní. Pro udržení konkurenceschopnosti je potřeba lidské zdroje efektivně vést a rozvíjet. Diplomová práce se proto zabývá zaváděním řízením lidí pomocí kompetencí v konkrétní organizaci. Cílem práce je popsat postup zavádění kompetenčního modelu v organizaci, vymezit nedostatky po implementaci a navrhnout možná řešení. Informace potřebné k vypracování diplomové práce byly získány díky analýze odborné literatury a interních dokumentů. Výsledků bylo dosaženo na základě kvantitativního výzkumu, kdy byla použita metoda dotazování formou dotazníkového šetření. Hlavními závěry diplomové práce jsou, že implementace kompetenčního modelu proběhla z velké části bez potíží a řízení podle kompetencí je využíváno efektivně. Největší slabinou systému je nedokonalý způsob předávání výstupů požadavků na vzdělávání a dosud nezavedené expertní kompetence. Organizaci lze doporučit, aby vytvořila softwarový nástroj pro lepší komunikaci mezi zaměstnanci a odborem vzdělávání. A aby organizace zatraktivnila expertní kompetence pomocí speciálního balíčku zaměstnaneckých benefitů.

Abstract:

In today's hectic and highly competitive times, human capital is one of the most important company resources. In order to stay competitive, it is crucial to manage and develop human resources efficiently. Therefore this thesis deals with the implementation of the competency management system in the particular company. The aim of this thesis is to describe the whole procedure of the competency model implementation in the organization, to define the issues following the implementation process and to suggest possible solutions. All necessary information for this thesis was obtained through the analysis of professional literature and internal documents of the analysed company. Results were achieved based on quantitative research using the questionnaire method. The main conclusion of the thesis states that the implementation of a competency model was largely without any problems and that the competency management is used efficiently. However, the biggest weakness of this system lies in an imperfect method of output transmission from training requirements and in missing implementation of expert competencies. The organization could be advised to develop a software tool enabling the better communication between employees and the Department of Education and to make the expert skills more attractive using a special benefit package.
