The role of Facebook in teenagers' lives.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem “Role Facebooku v životě pubescentů” je zaměřena na problematiku důležitosti a významnosti užívání sociální sítě Facebook pro pubescenty ve věku čtrnácti až patnácti let. Cílem této práce je popsat, jakou roli zaujímá, jaký význam má u pubescentů užívání sociální sítě Facebook, a jaký má podíl na jejich trávení volného času. Dále zjistit a popsat jaká je zde spojitost se sociální interakcí, ale především se sociální komunikací, a to ve smyslu rozdílnosti a odlišnost mezi internetovou/virtuální a reálnou/osobní sociální interakcí, komunikací. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část je zaměřena na pojmy média a sociální sítě, volný čas, sociální interakce a na období pubescence. Empirickou část tvoří kvalitativní výzkum, a jeho výsledky, který byl prováděn metodou ohniskových skupin. Výzkumné šetření vychází z analýzy dvou ohniskových skupin, které byly prováděny s žáky 9. ročníku Základní školy, kteří jsou každodenními uživateli sociální sítě Facebook. Získaná data byla následně analyzována a vyhodnocena pomocí metody zakotvené teorie

Abstract:

This thesis “The Role of Facebook in teenagers' lives“ studies the importance and significance of Facebook in lives of young people aged between fourteen to fifteen years old. The aim of this paper is to describe the role and the importance of the Facebook social media and its impact on teenagers' free time. Furthermore this thesis study and analyse its impact and influence on teenagers' social interaction, even more importantly on their social communications skills. This all in terms of diversity and difference between Internet/virtual and real/inter personal communication skills. The thesis has theoretical and empirici parts. The theoretical part studies the concepts of media and social networking, leisure time, social interaction, and the time of adolescence. The empirical part evaluates the qualitative research that has been carried out on two focus groups. The survey provides an analysis of two focus groups involving students of the 9th grade of elementary schools who are the everyday users of the social network Facebook. The collected data was analyzed and evaluated using the grounded theory.
