Status of men in the role of social workers

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá vnímáním rovných příležitostí v komunitě mužů, kteří jsou zaměstnáni na pozici sociálního pracovníka v okrese Ústí nad labem. V práci je přiblíženo, v jaké míře se sociální pracovníci setkali s genderovým útlakem či diskriminací, zda takové formy vyloučení vůbec pociťují a případně jakým způsobem se tyto formy vyloučení projevují na jejich pracovišti. Výzkum je proveden s muži, zaměstnanými na pozici sociálního pracovníka, jakožto se zástupci oboru, jehož průkopníky byly ženy, tedy ženské profese. V práci je zohledněn vliv feministických teorií sociální práce na nynější chování kolektivů pracovníků organizací a institucí poskytujících sociální služby. Práce se věnuje sociální práci z hlediska genderu a tomu, jakým způsobem se muži sociální pracovníci vyrovnávají s genderovou diskriminací v pracovním kolektivu, pokud se s takovým na pracovišti setkávají.

Abstract:

The thesis is dealing with the perception of equal opportunities in the community of men who are employed on the position of social worker in district of Ústí nad Labem. In which extent social workers met the gender oppression or discrimination, if they even experinced these forms of exclusion and eventually, how these forms of exclusion are showed on their workplace, in this thesis. The research is made with men employed on the position of social worker, as representatives of discipline, which pathfinders were women, that means woman´s profession. There are feminist theories of social work taken into account on a present behavior of collectives of workers from organizations and institutions which are serving social services, in the thesis. The thesis is devoting to social work in a gender term and how men social workers are dealing with a gender discrimination at a work collective, if they meet it on their workplace.
