The Portrayal of Women in Doctor Who
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se primárně zaměřuje na ženské postavy v populárním britském seriálu Doctor Who. Nejprve čtenáře seznamuje se studiem televize a vyobrazení žen v televizi obecně. Poté analyzuje vybrané ženské postavy "klasického" Doctora Who (1963-1989) a zkoumá, jak jsou vyobrazeny a zda se přizpůsobují zakořeněným stereotypům a konvencím.Abstract:
This bachelor thesis focuses on female characters of the popular British series Doctor Who. First it introduces the television studies and the depiction of women on television in general. Then it analyzes selected female characters of the "classic" Doctor Who (1963-1989) and examines the way they are portrayed and whether they conform to the embedded stereotypes and conventions.
