Práce se zabývá vlastním kapitálem v akciové společnosti z pohledu zákona o obchodních korporacích a českých účetních předpisů. První část se zabývá stručným pojednáním o akciové společnosti, pojednává o jejím postavení mezi jinými právními formami podnikání a základní charakteristice.
