Tekno subculture in contemporary art

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce sleduje vliv tekno subkultury na vizuální kódy umělců, kteří jsou její součástí. První část práce se věnuje celkové historii subkultury a kulturním vlivům, které na tuto komunitu působí. Následuje analýza nejčastěji užívaných vizuálních symbolů. Další část práce obsahuje kvalitativní výzkum, který byl prováděn ve formě rozhovorů s třinácti umělci, kteří jsou součástí této komunity. Výsledky tohoto výzkumu ukazují, že tekno komunita ovlivňuje své umělce hlavně skrze prožitek a internalizaci jejích principů. Bakalářská práce končí popisem autorského uměleckého výstupu ve formě digitálních koláží, které reflektují autorčiny osobní prožitky v rámci této subkultury. Tímto způsobem práce nejen odpovídá na výzkumnou otázku, ale také přináší nový pohled na dynamiku vztahu mezi komunitou a uměleckým vyjádřením.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the influence of the techno subculture on the visual codes of artists who are part of it. The first part of the thesis focuses on the overall history of the subculture and the cultural influences affecting this community. This is followed by an analysis of the most commonly used visual symbols. Another section of the thesis contains qualitative research conducted through interviews with thirteen artists who are part of this community. The results of this research show that the techno community primarily influences its artists through experience and internalization of its principles. The bachelor thesis concludes with a description of the author's artistic output in the form of digital collages, which reflect the author's personal experiences within this subculture. In this way, the thesis not only answers the research question but also provides a new perspective on the dynamics of the relationship between the community and artistic expression.
