Differences in motivation between employees in the for-profit and non-profit sectors

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je porovnat motivaci zaměstnanců v ziskovém a neziskovém sektoru. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Vhledu do problematiky věnuji první, teoretickou část práce. Pomocí odborné literatury vymezuji základní pojmy, které se týkají rozdělení ziskového a neziskového sektoru a věnuji se tématu motivace a motivačních teorií. Druhá, praktická část práce je věnována průzkumu pomocí dotazníkového šetření mezi zaměstnanci v ziskovém a neziskovém sektoru a je rozdělena na tři okruhy. Oslovila i zahraniční zaměstnance neziskových organizací. Důvodem pro toto rozšíření na zahraniční respondenty je vědomí, že v demokratických zemích v zahraničí má neziskový sektor delší tradici, zatímco v České republice byl, zejména v období vlády jedné strany, vytěsněn zcela na okraj. Porovnání motivace v neziskových organizacích v České republice a v zahraničí, by mělo srovnání doplnit o širší, mezinárodní aspekt. Závěrem, na základě teoretických východisek, metodického výzkumu a komparací, shrnuji poznatky a pokusím se nalézt odpověď na položené otázky.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compare the motivation of employees in the profitable and non-profit sector. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part is devoted to insights into the issue. With the help of professional literature, I define the basic concepts that are related to the division of the profitable and non-profit sector and I dedicate to the topic of motivation and motivational theories. The second, practical part of the thesis is oriented to a search by distributing a questionnaire survey among employees in the profitable and non-profitable sector and is divided into three areas. I decided to address the questionnaire also to foreign employees of non-profit organizations abroad. The reason for this extension to foreign respondents is the knowledge that in democratic countries abroad the non-profit sector has a longer tradition, while in the Czech Republic it was, especially during the one-party government, pushed to the side of interest. A comparison of motivation in non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic and abroad should amend the comparison with a broader, international aspect. Finally, based on previous theoretical background, methodological research and comparisons, I summarize the findings and try to find answers to the questions asked.
