Comparison of traditional classroom climate and schools with Dalton plan

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je popsat a analyzovat názory žáků tradiční školy a školy s daltonským plánem na klima třídy. Zjistit rozdíly ve vnímání klimatu třídy žáky tradiční školy a školy s daltonským plánem. Diplomová práce se skládá ze dvou částí. V první části jsou zpracovány teoretické informace. Druhá část je věnována výzkumu klimatu třídy. Klima třídy v jednotlivých třídách bylo zkoumáno prostřednictvím upraveného dotazníku CES. Na základě výsledků zkoumání bylo zjištěno, že klima třídy žáků tradiční školy a školy s daltonským plánem se v některých aspektech shodují a v některých odlišují. Odlišnosti byly pozorovány např. v hlučnosti třídy, uspořádání třídy či vnímání role učitele. Naopak shodnost byla shledána např. v hledisku pravidel a organizovanosti třídy či angažovanosti žáků. Z tohoto důvodu můžeme usuzovat o významu některých faktorů ovlivňujících klima třídy. Na základě statistických výsledků, které byly vypracovány z výzkumu, bylo zjištěno, že klima třídy tradiční a třídy s daltonským plánem je vnímáno skoro stejně pozitivně.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyze students opinions of the traditional school and school with the Dalton Plan on the classroom environment and to find out the differences in the perception of the classroom envrionment between students of the traditional school and school with the Dalton Plan. The thesis consits of two parts. The first part of the thesis contains theoretical information. The second part of the thesis focuses on a classroom environment. The classroom environment research was done by using standardised CES questionnaire. Results of the research show that that there have been both conformity and differences between the traditional classroom environment and classroom environment of the school with the Dalton Plan. The differences have been observed, e.g., in the noise of the class, classroom arrangement or perception of the teacher. On the contrary, the conformity has been identified, e.g., in the aspect of the rules and organisation of the classroom or commitment of the students. In consequence to this we can suggest that some factors affect classroom climate. Statistical results drawn from the research show that the classroom envrionment of both the traditional school and the school with the Dalton Plan is seen almost equally positively.
