Elimination methods including FPSA from the perspective of nurses

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na znalosti a obavy sester z kontinuálních eliminačních metod, včetně eliminační metody FPSA prováděné na přístroji Prometheus. Znalosti i obavy jsou porovnávány s délkou praxe sester, jejich vzděláním a kurzy, které absolvovaly na téma dané problematiky. V teoretické části je stručně charakterizováno renální selhání, dále se práce již věnuje eliminačním metodám. Prostor je věnován také nezbytnému vybavení CRRT, ošetřovatelské péči o pacienta napojeného na CRRT a akutním komplikacím, které se mohou při eliminačních metodách vyskytnout. Druhá část je věnovaná jaternímu selhání a terapii pomocí eliminačního přístroje Prometheus; kde je stručně charakterizován princip metody, její indikace a kontraindikace. Empirická část, je zaměřena na analýzu výsledků dotazníkového šetření, kde jsou vyhodnocovány především znalosti a obavy sester ve výše uvedených oblastech.

Abstract:

This diploma project focuses on the knowledge and concerns of the nurses providing continuous elimination methods including Prometheus Franctionated Plasma Separation and Absorption System (FPSA). The knowledge and the concerns are compared to the length of a nursing practice, nurses‘education and training related to the issue. Renal failure is briefly described in a theoretical part followed by the theory of elimination methods. The required equipment for continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), nursing care plan of a patient receiving CRRT and acute complications of elimination methods are considered also. The second part of the project is dedicated to liver failure and its treatment using Prometheus system. Here the author briefly describes the principles, indications and contraindications of the system. The empirical part focuses on the questionnaire responses. The knowledge and the concerns of the nursing staff, the length of a nursing practice, nurses‘education and their specific training and interrelationships of these factors are analysed.
