The effect of cognitive behavioral therapy of obesity

Abstract:

Tato závěrečná práce je zaměřena na zkoumání efektivity kognitivně behaviorální terapie obezity v redukčních kurzech nadváhy a obezity vedených metodikou STOBu, který založila Iva Málková. Data jsou sbírána v kurzech v Plzni, Praze a Brně a efektivita kurzů je srovnávána s efektivitou svépomocného snižování obezity podle internetových stránek Sebekoučink, patřící rovněž pod STOB a propagujícím stejná pravidla jako kurzy snižování nadváhy. Kritériem efektivity je úbytek tělesné hmotnosti, BMI a subjektivně vnímaná kvalita života, již v mém zkoumání zastupuje velikost sebedůvěry. V teoretické části je definována obezita, popsáno její historické vnímání, stručně nastíněna etiopatogeneze, diagnostika a epidemiologie, dále jsou zde popsány následky tělesné a psychické spolu se změnami osobnosti obézního. Pokračuji se zaměřením na léčbu obezity a jejích výsledků. Ve třetí části teoretického úvodu se dostávám k podrobnému popisu kurzů kognitivně behaviorální terapie obezity v České republice, kterým je věnována samostatná kapitola. A závěrečný text teoretické části je věnován výzkumům a studiím, které byly prováděny po celém světě a zkoumají efektivitu KBT obezity nebo jejím jednotlivým částím.

Abstract:

This final written work is aimed at research of cognitive-behavioral therapy of obesity in overweight and obesity reduction courses working on the basis of STOBu founded by Iva Málková. The data are collected in courses in Pilsen, Prague and Brno and the effectivenes of these courses is compared with the effectivenes of self-help reducing obesity according to web pages ‚Sebekoučing‘ which is also the part of STOB and which publicizes the same principles of obesity reducing. The criterion for effectivenes is the weight loss, BMI and subjectively felt quality of life which is represented in my research by the amount of self confidence. In the theoretical part there is the definition of obesity, its historical perception and also a brief description of etiopathogenesis, diagnosing and epidemiology together with the consequences of physical, psychological and personality changes of the obese person. Further I mention the treatment of obesity and the results. In the third part of the theoretical introduction I deal with the detailed description of the cognitive-behavioral therapy courses in the Czech Republic, a whole chapter is devoted to it. And the final text of the theoretical part is dedicated to research and studies which were carried out all over the world and which inspect the effectivity of CBT of obesity or its individual parts.
