Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem používání mateřského jazyka v hodinách angličtiny. Teoretická část se zabývá charakteristikou dospělých studentů a jejich postoji ke studiu cizího jazyka. Dále jsou zde uvedeny přístupy odborníků k otázce používání mateřštiny ve výuce a zhodnocení jejích výhod a nevýhod. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with adult learners´ characteristics, their attitudes and expectations to English learning and ways of acquiring it.It also provides linguists´ various points of view on mother tongue use in English teaching and its advantages as well as disadvantages.
