Transformation of traditionally industrial areas on the example of the Severozápad region

Abstract:

Cílem disertační práce je obohatit akademickou diskusi a výzkum v tématu vývoje územních diferenciací na příkladu regionu NUTS II - Severozápad jako tradičního průmyslového regionu, který v důsledku dekarbonizace prochází komplexní transformací. Práce je členěna na dvě výzkumné části. První část si klade za cíl zodpovědět výzkumnou otázku: Prochází post-těžební území procesem snižováním vnitroregionálních diferenciací? V této části práce bude aplikován kvantitativní výzkum pro statistické zpracování a vyhodnocení dat za územní jednotky za účelem výzkumu územních diferenciací. Druhá část práce se zaměřuje na kvalitativní výzkum. Druhým cílem práce je zodpovědět výzkumnou otázku: Podporují místní akční skupiny ve svém svěřeném území snižování vnitroregionálních rozdílů? Práce přináší výsledky, kde při shlukové analýze bylo prokázáno, že s rostoucím časem od počátku milénia dochází u mnoha ukazatelů ke snižování diferenciací, kdy výjimku tvoří okres Most. Dalším výsledkem práce pak je zjištění, že místní akční skupiny svým působením ve svěřeném území snižují vnitroregionální rozdíly ve svých svěřených územích.

Abstract:

The aim of the dissertation is to enrich the academic discussion and research on the topic of the development of territorial differentiation using the example of the NUTS II - Severozápad region as a traditional industrial region undergoing a complex transformation as a result of decarbonisation. The thesis is divided into two research parts. The first part aims to answer the research question: Is the post-mining territory undergoing a process of reducing intra-regional differentiation? In this part of the thesis, quantitative research will be applied to statistically process and evaluate data for territorial units in order to investigate territorial differentiation. The second part of the thesis focuses on qualitative research. The second objective of the thesis is to answer the research question: Do LAGs support the reduction of intra-regional disparities in their assigned territory? The thesis presents the results, where cluster analysis has shown that with increasing time since the beginning of the millennium there is a reduction of differentiation in many indicators, with the exception of the Most district. Another result of the work is the finding that the LAGs, through their activities in their assigned territories, reduce intra-regional differences in their assigned territories.
