Prospero, his will and God
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis describes themes of power, justice and natural order in Shakespeare's play The Tempest. The thesis focuses on the main character - the magician Prospero, who manipulates everyone around him. It analyses whether Prospero is corrupted by power and whether he acts in his own interest or on behalf of society. The thesis is based on three sources - Plato's philosophy, Christian morality …more
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce rozebírá témata moci, spravedlnosti a přirozeného řádu v Shakespearově hře Bouře. Práce se zaměřuje na hlavní postavu - čaroděje Prospera, který ovládá všechny kolem sebe. Rozebírá, zda je Prospero zkažený mocí a zda jedná ve svém zájmu, či v zájmu společnosti. Práce vychází ze tří zdrojů - Platónova filosofie, křesťanská morálka a novodobá psychologie.
