Assessment of financial health and suggestion of appropriate fundraising methods in a foundation environment

Abstract:

V České republice roste vliv neziskového sektoru a společně s tím roste i zájem organizace do tohoto sektoru spadající podrobněji analyzovat. Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá nestátní neziskovou organizaci Nadační fond Emil. V první části jsou definovány teoretické poznatky a metody ke zkoumané problematice. Druhá část práce je věnována samotnému výzkumu autora, který je rozdělen do tří hlavních částí: analýzy vnějšího okolí pomocí podrobné analýzy PESTLE, analýzy vnitřního prostředí formou posouzení finančního zdraví (využity jsou modely BAMF 2007 a KAMF) a syntézy závěrů z provedených analýz do podoby SWOT analýzy, v rámci které jsou prezentována jednotlivá doporučení pro budoucí vývoj organizace. Finanční zdraví bylo zkoumáno za roky 2017-2021. Čerpána byla jak sekundární data, tak i data z nestrukturovaných rozhovorů s členy managementu organizace. V závěru jsou popsány i další možné směry budoucího výzkumu.

Abstract:

In the Czech Republic, the influence of the non-profit sector is growing, and along with it, the interest in more detailed analysis of organisations belonging to this sector is also growing. This bachelor thesis examines the non-governmental organisation Emil Endowment Fund. The first part defines the theoretical background and methods to the researched issue. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the author's research itself, which is divided into three main parts: analysis of the external environment using a detailed PESTLE analysis, analysis of the internal environment in the form of a financial health assessment (BAMF 2007 and KAMF models are used) and synthesis of the conclusions from the conducted analyses into the form of a SWOT analysis, within which individual recommendations for the future development of the organisation are presented. Financial health was examined for the years 2017-2021. Both secondary data and data from unstructured interviews with members of the organisation's management were used. Finally, possible directions for future research are described.
