Linguistic Analysis of English Used in the Format of Popular Streaming Platforms.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on linguistic analysis of English used in the communities of the streaming platforms. The text describes what the streaming platforms are, the reasons behind the creation of online communities, how it concerns the language aspects, and how they work. The thesis presents the use of the platforms, the points of view of the viewers and streamers, and its appeal. One of the chapters analyses the means of communication used in streaming platforms. The text analyses phrases and emoticons, that are frequently used on the streaming platforms, and study them from the morphological point of view. The end of the theoretical part consists of neologisms and gamer slang. The first part of the research consists of a questionnaire that shows how the means of communication are used. The second part is the qualitative research, which focuses on the analysis of samples of means of communication used in the format of the streaming platforms.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na lingvistickou analýzu anglického jazyka používaného v komunitách streamovacích platforem. Bakalářská práce se zabývá vysvětlením, co jsou to streamovací platformy, jaké byly důvody vzniku online komunit a jak se zde pracuje s jazykem a jazykovými prvky. Nastiňuje zde využití platforem jako takových, a to z pohledu streamerů, tak konzumentů, co je pro ně atraktivní a proč je to dnešní velký fenomén. Jedním ze stěžejních bodů práce je analýza prostředků využívaných pro komunikaci na streamovacích platformách. Jsou zde analyzovány frazeologismy a emotikony, které se frekventovaně používají na streamovacích platformách a jsou zkoumány z morfologického hlediska. Závěr teoretické části představuje neologismy z hráčského světa a jejich slang. V praktické části této bakalářské práce je využit dotazník, který ukazuje, jakým způsobem se využívají jazykové prvky v praxi. Následuje kvalitativní analýza vzorků prostředků z platforem.
