Broker-dealer supervision in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Dohled nad obchodníky s cennými papíry v České republice“ je charakteristika daného dohledu se zaměřením na ČNB a její postavení v této problematice, také se vymezí pojem obchodník s cennými papíry, pravidla jeho obchodní činnosti a podmínky pro udělení oprávnění. Krátce se představí i směrnice MiFid a MiFid 2. Dále se práce věnuje dodržování předepsaných pravidel obchodníky a tomu, co se stane, když jednotlivé regulace nedodržují. Ve třetí kapitole se už řeší konkrétní obchodníci a případy, které byly zaznamenány ČNB a Komisí, ze kterých se pak vyvodí určité rady a postřehy, které by měli zákazníci znát při výběru svého obchodníka.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis „Broker-dealer supervision in the Czech Republic“ is the characteristic of the supervision with main focus on the Czech National Bank and its position in this issue, there is also a definition of the broker-dealer term, the regulations they have to abide and the conditions they have to meet in order to get the licence for business. Furthermore, the thesis introduces the MiFid regulations. Next, there is the issue of abiding the regulations and the consequences of breaking them. The specific cases made public by CNB and by the Commission are described in the third chapter, from these cases are then developed some rules and guidelines useful for every potential customer.
