Foreign policy of Francoist Spain

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá španělskou zahraniční politikou v období frankismu. Hlavním cílem práce je analyzovat frankistickou zahraniční politiku a zhodnotit její cíle, prostředky, možnosti a limity. Dílčím cílem je potvrzení či vyvrácení stanovené hypotézy: pro uznání frankistického režimu v mezinárodním prostředí byl nezbytný a klíčový fakt, že byl po celou dobu svého trvání silně antikomunistický. K dosažení vytyčených cílů je práce rozčleněna do čtyř kapitol. Nejprve se práce věnuje teoretickému základu a vymezení nezbytných pojmů. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na politický vývoj Španělska před Frankovým režimem, od konce devatenáctého století. Obsahem třetí kapitoly je frankistická zahraniční politika během druhé světové války, její cíle a limity. Poslední kapitola je věnována období po druhé světové válce, až po pád frankistického režimu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with Spanish foreign policy during the Franco period. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze Francois foreign policy and evaluate it's aims, instruments, possibilities and limits. The partial goal is to test the following hypothesis: for the recognition of the Franco's regime in the international environment was essential and crucial the fact, that the regime was during the whole time firmly anti-communist. To fulfill the set aims, the thesis is divided in four chapters. First, the work is devoted to theoretical background and defining essential terms. The second chapter is focusing on the political development of Spain before the Franco's regime, from the end of the nineteenth century. The third chapter contains the Francoist foreign policy during the World War II, it's aims and limits. The last chapter focuses on the period after World War II until the fall of the Francoist regime.
