Translating Idioms: The Czech and Slovak Translations of Stephen King's Bill Hodges Trilogy
Abstract:
Cílem této bakalářské práce je analýza překladu anglických idiomů obsažených v trilogii Bill Hodges od Stephena Kinga do slovenského a českého jazyka. Idiomy jsou analyzovány na základě metody, která byla použita pro jejich překlad, a dále z hlediska jejich významové shody s anglickým originálem. Práce je taktéž zaměřena na zjištení nejčastěji použité metody pro překlad.
Abstract:
The goal of the present thesis is to analyse the translations of idioms, which are found in The Trilogy of Bill Hodges, into Czech and Slovak. The idioms are analyzed in terms of the method used for their translation, whether the translation corresponds to the original idiom, and which method was the most used.
