Artificial inseminaton of dairy cattle

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci je zpracována literární rešerše na téma inseminace v chovu dojeného skotu. Začátek práce je věnován obecně inseminaci jako základní biotechnické metodě a také vývoji inseminace v budoucnosti. Druhá část je věnována popisu inseminačních metod, jejich přednostem a nedostatkům. V této části jsou zmíněny také reinseminace a opakované inseminace. Na tuto část navazuje popis kvalitativních kritérií inseminačních dávek a laboratorních vyšetření sloužícím k jejich posouzení. Jsou popsány vyšetření aktivity a hustoty spermií, tepelné testy přežitelnosti spermií a přístrojová metoda CASA. Dalším tématem zpracovaným v této práci jsou typy inseminačních dávek a zásady jejich skladování a užití. Poslední část mé bakalářské práce je věnována faktorům ovlivňujícím zabřezávání plemenic, protože je na nich existenčně závislá úspěšnost inseminace. Tyto faktory se dělí na vnitřní, které lze jen těžko ovlivnit a vnější, které přímo ovlivňuje chovatel svým jednáním. V práci jsou popsány vnitřní faktory jako dědičnost, zdraví a vztah mléčné užitkovosti a plodnosti. Z vnějších faktorů jsem se v práci věnoval managementu reprodukce, technologii ustájení, výživě a klimatickým podmínkám.

Abstract:

There is write up a literary research in this bachelor´s thesis about artificial insemination of dairy cattle. The beginning of this work is devoted to insemination in general as a basic biotechnical method and also there is outlined development of artificial insemination in the future. The second part is devoted to the description of insemination methods and their advantages and disadvantages. Re-insemination and repeated insemination are also mentioned in this section. This part is followed by a description of the qualitative criteria of insemination straws and laboratory tests used to evaluate them. Described tests are sperm motility, sperm concentration, thermal resistance tests and instrumental tests provided by CASA system. Another write up theme in this work are the types of insemination straws and the principles of their storage and use. The last part of my bachelor's thesis is devoted to the factors influencing the conception of cows and heifers, because the success of artificial insemination depends on them. These factors are divided into internal, which are difficult to influence and external, which are directly affect by breeder. The thesis describes internal factors such as heredity, health and the relationship between milk production and fertility. Further there are described external factors such as management of reproduction, housing technology, influence of nutrition and climate conditions.
