The impact and influence of illustration on a child and its perception

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce byla sepsána se záměrem zjistit, jak děti v praxi reagují na mé vlastní ilustrace. Jak je pro ně obrazový doprovod knihy srozumitelný ve vztahu k psanému a čtenému textu, jestli je poutavý a dokáže zaujmout apod. Zdrojem k tomuto zkoumání pro mě bylo vlastní výtvarné zpracování pohádkové knížky, kterou jsem dětem předložila a na základě pracovních listů, společného předčítání a volných rozhovorů jsem došla k několika smysluplným závěrům. Součástí práce je podrobný popis mé komplexní tvorby pohádkové knihy, stručný teoretický náhled do základních principů dětské ilustrace a návrh didaktického projektu související s tématem dětské ilustrace.

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how children respond to my own illustrations in practice. The aim was to determine if the visual accompaniment to a book is understandable in relation to the written and read text, if it is engaging and can capture their attention, among other things. The basis for this research was my own artistic visuals of a fairytale book, which I presented to children. Through the use of worksheets, shared reading, and informal interviews, I arrived at several meaningful conclusions. The thesis provides a detailed account of the development of my fairytale book, including the creation process. It also includes a brief theoretical overview of the basic principles of children's illustration and proposes a didactic project related to the topic of children's illustration.
