The Jihlava Hills - the Current State of the Landscape and Its Anthropogenic Influence (Biogeographical Study)

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá popisem a hodnocením současného stavu krajiny centrální části Jihlavských vrchů, který charakterizuje za použití biogeografických kritérií s důrazem na změny sledovaného krajinného prostoru způsobené antropogenními vlivy. Zkoumaná oblast o rozloze 14,1 km2 se nachází v kraji Vysočina, severozápadně od města Telč, na katastrálních územích obcí Mrákotín, Řásná, Lhotka a Řídelov. Nejzápadnějším bodem modelového území, povodí Javořického potoka a Myslůvky, je nejvyšší vrchol Českomoravské vrchoviny ? Javořice (836,5 m n. m.). V prvních kapitolách práce podrobně popisuje fyzicko-geografické poměry zájmového území. Poté je krajina Jihlavských vrchů hodnocena z hlediska antropogenních změn jejího přírodního stavu a dynamiky vývoje těchto procesů. Pozornost je také věnována různým způsobům ochrany cenných částí přírody a krajiny. Historický vývoj studované krajiny je popsán s důrazem na období od druhé poloviny 19. století. Antropogenní vliv na krajinu je vyhodnocován na základě změn vybraných tříd krajinného pokryvu oblasti. Ke stanovení rozsahu změn byly použity údaje z úhrnných hodnot druhů pozemků katastrů obcí, ve kterých modelové území leží. Analyzována byla časová řada údajů z let 1845, 1948, 2001 a 2010. Pro doplnění informací byly využity také archivní mapy ÚAZK, historické letecké fotografie oblasti a databáze CORINE Land Cover. Současná krajina modelového území byla informativně zařazena do Meeusovy panevropské krajinné typologie, ale nejdůležitějším výstupem disertace je vytvoření digitálních map aktuálního stavu krajiny zkoumané oblasti v měřítku 1 : 5 000 pomocí software ArcGIS? 9 Desktop od firmy ESRI. Kartografická díla byla vyhotovena na základě provedeného komplexního mapování krajiny a vytvoření rozsáhlého souboru primárních dat. Tematické mapy popisují aktuální fyziotypy vegetace a ekologickou stabilitu současného území ve vymezených segmentech krajinné struktury. Terénní mapování podle metodiky Českého ústavu ochrany přírody (Vondrušková, 1994) proběhlo v průběhu vegetačních sezon v letech 2004 ? 2006. Zjištěné informace, vytvořené mapové výstupy a podrobné databázové soubory mohou být využity pro obecnou ochranu přírody a krajiny, při registraci významných krajinných prvků, pro doplnění dokumentace lokálního ÚSES, k hodnocení současného stavu povodí, pro projekty nebo realizaci pozemkových úprav a územní plánování v oblasti, pro vyhledávání negativních vlivů na přírodu a krajinu atp. Také mohou posloužit jako jeden z podkladů k vyhlášení již dlouhou dobu v oblasti připravovaného přírodního parku. Na základě autorčiny dobré znalosti území získané díky zpracování diplomové práce o fyzicko-geografických poměrech oblasti, byla na začátku tvorby disertace vytvořena pracovní hypotéza, která předpokládala, že studovaná kulturní krajina je natolik cenná, že by pro zajištění uchování své hodnoty měla mít vyšší stupeň územní ochrany. Tato pracovní hypotéza byla výsledky disertační práce jednoznačně potvrzena.

Abstract:

This thesis aims to evaluate the current state of the landscape in the central region of the Jihlava hills. This evaluation is done by the utilization of the biogeographical criteria with emphasis on the changes of the observed landscape area caused by the anthropogenic influences. The landscape area of interest comprises of 14.1 km2 in the region of Vysočina, orientated northwest of the town Telč, within the land registry domain of the villages Mrákotín, Řásná, Lhotka and Řídelov. The most western point of the model landscape area, the catchment basin of the Javořický stream and the stream of Myslůvka, is the highest peak of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands - Javořice (836.5 m s. l.). The first sections of the thesis are describing the physical-geographical changes of the area of interest. Thereafter the landscape of the Jihlava hills is evaluated from the view point of the anthropogenic changes of the natural status of the landscape and the dynamics of its development. Thesis also describes various types of nature and landscape protection in the researched area. The historical aspect of the development of the area of interest is described with the emphasis on the period from the second half of the 19th century. The anthropogenic impact on the landscape is evaluated on the basis of the changes observed within the selected classes of the landcover of the given area. The assessment of the extent of changes was deduced from the cumulative values of the types of plots in the land registries of the villages from the model landscape area. The analysis was performed on the data from years 1845, 1948, 2001 and 2010. The archive maps of the ÚAZK, historic air photographs of the given area and information from the database CORINE Land Cover were also used for the supplementation of the information. The current information about the model landscape area was added to the Meeus pan- European landscape typology. However, the most important output of this thesis is creation of the digital map capturing the current status of the area of interest in ratio 1 : 5 000 produced in ArcGIS? 9 Desktop software which was supplied by the ESRI company. The cartographical work was produced on the basis of the undertaken complex mapping of the landscape and creation of the vast collection of the primary data. The thematic maps describe the current physiotypes of vegetation and the ecological stability of the selected landscape area in the selected segments of the landscape structure. The terrain mapping in accordance with the Czech Bureau of the Nature Protection (Vondrušková, 1994) was performed during vegetation seasons between years 2004 and 2006. The collated information, created map outputs and detailed database files can be used for the general landscape and nature protection, for registration of the significant landscape component, for the supplementation of the documentation of local ÚSES, for the evaluation of the current status of the catchment basin, for the realization of landscape modifications and landscape planning in the given region, for the detection of negative influences on the nature and landscape etc. The outputs can also be used as one of the grounds for the decision about the long-term prepared plan for the landscape park in the region. Based on the author?s detailed knowledge of the studied area gained during the preparation and completion of Master?s thesis dealing with the physical-geographical circumstances in the region, a hypothesis was postulated in the early stages if the thesis work. This hypothesis claimed that the studied landscape is so valuable that a higher level of the landscape protection should be granted in order to secure a relevant protection of its value. This original hypothesis was fully confirmed by the results of this thesis.
