Autobiographical Aspects of Visual Art and their Use in Art Education

Abstract:

Disertační práce je postavena na zkušenosti v hodinách výtvarné výchovy v průběhu let 2005 až 2015, jejichž cílovou skupinou byly především dospívající dívky a mladé ženy ve věku od 15 do 20 let. Fenomén autobiografie je nahlížen z širšího filozofického hlediska, konkretizován důrazem na aspekty rodinné a rodové. Výtvarné, námětové a materiálové možnosti autobiografie jsou patrné v prezentovaných specifických výtvarných projektech a experimentech. Teritorium výtvarné pedagogiky je specifikováno ve vztahu k oblasti současného výtvarného umění a výběru zahraničních i českých výtvarných umělců, princip, jejichž tvorby je autobiografický. Dílčí části dizertační práce představují vybrané konstanty lidské autobiografie, klíčové ve vztahu k přibývajícím rizikovým jevům ve společnosti, v rámci generačních proměn společnosti teenagerů a adolescentů. Zdůrazněny jsou následující souřadnice lidské autobiografie: vztah k domovu a osobním věcem - pozice v rodině a v síti mezilidských vztahů - zážitek pomalosti a kvality času - vědomí historicity, duchovního a kulturního vývoje lidstva - prožitek vlastní pohlavní identity - konkrétně hodnota ženství, možnosti magicko-mýtického rozměru našeho osobního života v prostředí školy. Dizertační prací mimo jiné reflektuji vzájemný poměr spontaneity, otázky řádu a dokončení tvaru, jakožto etickou osu estetické výchovy.

Abstract:

The dissertation is based on the author’s experience from teaching art education in 2007–2014, primarily for adolescent girls and young woman aged 15 to 20. The phenomenon of the autobiography is seen from the broader philosophical perspective with a specific focus on aspects of family and clan. The artistic, thematic, and material possibilities of autobiography are clearly visible in the presented alternative art projects, experiments and case studies. The field of art education is described in relation to the discourse in the contemporary visual arts and through a selection of foreign and Czech artists whose art is autobiographical in nature. The dissertation’s various chapters present selected constants of human autobiographies that are of central importance to the increasing presence of high-risk phenomena in society in relation to generational changes among teenage and adolescent society. The author emphasizes the following aspects of human autobiography: the relationship to home and personal things, the position within the family and within the network of human relationships, the experience of slowness and the quality of time, an awareness of historicity and of the spiritual and cultural evolution of mankind, the experience of one’s sexual identity (specifically womanhood), and the possibilities of the magical/mystical dimension of our personal lives within the school environment. The dissertation also reflects the interrelationship among spontaneity, the question of order and the creation of complete shapes as an ethical axis of art education.
